Bourgogne Blanc
Mâconnais &
Bourgogne
Worth trying here are the superb
Mâcon-Prissé
from the Caves du Prissé and
Beaujolais Blanc from Château de Pizay - both
delicious lemon-fresh Chardonnays though the Beaujolais has richer finish. We
have a superb Pouilly-Fuissé
of real elegance and complexity from Domaine Saumaise
- rated by Jane MacQuitty as one of her ‘Wines of the Year’ - that has a classic
mineral nose with wonderful underpinning honeysuckle.Well-made Bourgogne Aligoté
can be a treat and this new wine from the Caves de Mancey is as good as they
get.

Chablis
La
Chablisienne make exemplary Chablis in a modern, squeaky clean style. This wine
making philosophy creates wines full of fruit with refreshing acidity.
As we change vintage we will be moving to a new,
improved presentation and a Stelvin closure on both the Petit-Chablis and
Chablis.

Bernard and Samuel Billaud
have propelled this domaine to
the forefront of Chablis production. Huge investment in a new winery, coupled
with some of the oldest and best-sited parcels of Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru and
Chablis Grand Cru vineyards has resulted in a surge of quality since Samuel took
over the wine making in 1992. Today, low yields as a result of strict winter
pruning and ébourgeonnage
each spring give an
intensity to their wines rarely found in Chablis.

Côte Chalonnaise
A delightful wine here from
Château de la Saule, owned by
Alain Roy, that displays the classic minerality, combined with the citrus zest
that epitomises top quality white burgundy. The voluptuous

from Michel Briday is the match of many a top Côte d’Or white.
