Forget the Barbeque!  We are very excited to be hosting a new event - a ‘men only learn to cook’ evening with multi award-winning Paul Gilmore from Restaurant Gilmore in Uttoxeter.  After a welcoming glass of Champagne, Francis will be matching fine wines to go with the meal.  This is the ideal opportunity for men to learn to cook a fantastic three course menu that they can astonish their wives, partners and friends with!  This promises to be a really fun and instructive evening.

This is a new event for us - an evening devoted to wine and food.  We shall have over 50 wines open for tasting alongside a barbeque being run by Just Jane Caterers, a variety of fine cheeses for tasting and buying along with delicious meat from the Farm Shop at the brand new Aston Marina. This will all take place at our warehouse in Stone and there will be a discount of 5% on wines bought that are available at the tasting.

Our spring wine tasting takes place this year on Saturday 8th May.  We shall have wines from all over the world open for tasting with staff on hand to give help and advice if needed.  The ticket price is refundable against the purchase of 12 bottles of wine, excluding special offers.

Peel Estate Wine Tasting

A tasting of Peel Estate Wines with our old friend, Will Nairn from Peel Estate in Western Australia is taking place at our warehouse on Tuesday 8th June.  Will’s tastings are always great fun and very instructive.  There will be new vintages to taste along with all the old favourites and a mystery wine with a prize for the person who gets closest to the grape variety and country of origin.  There will be a discount of 10% on all wines that we taste bought on the evening.

Southern Lights Sauvignon Blanc

This wine was so popular last year that we have managed to get a pallet of the new 2009 vintage and we are able to sell it at the same amazing price as last year.  It is a classic Marlborough Sauvignon bursting with Florida grapefruit and gooseberry flavours from the Omaka Springs Estate at the top of the South Island.

Tierra del Rey Rosé

We already do the white and red wines of this range from Chile and are now able to offer this delicious merlot rosé at an excellent price.  It is a dry but fruity wine with plenty of red fruit flavours and is a delightful strawberry colour.  This is the perfect wine for spring and summer.  We are only able to get hold of this on a one off basis, as production is ceasing, so grab it while you can!

Bargain Chilean Chardonnay

We have managed to get hold of another pallet of the delicious Terranoble Chardonnay following on from its huge popularity at the end of last year.  This is a delicious, unoaked Chardonnay from the Maule Valley in Chile, full of pineapple and vanilla flavours that are attractively presented.

Competition Winner

We are delighted to announce the winner of our draw to win two tickets to each of our tastings during 2010.  It is Mr Roberts who lives in Stone.  An invoice number was drawn at random and it had his name on!  Mr Roberts has been coming to our tastings regularly, so we hope he will enjoy his prize - well done!

Riedel Glasses

We always have stock of Riedel glasses and decanters in the warehouse.  The prices are always much lower than the RRP because we receive our stock direct from Riedel, the result of over ordering or bankruptcy.  The glasses are always perfect and brand new.  Ring us or come in to see what we currently have in stock.
