Mexico
is the oldest wine producer in the Americas, with wineries established in the
16th century. Only recently has it become modernized, however, with the best
region being the Baja California peninsula which benefits from the cool Pacific
currents. The Mexican wine industry received a massive boost when LA Cetto’s
Petit Sirah won the Red Wine of the Year in the International Wine Challenge
1995.
